SHAMPOO FOR SOFT HAIR

Head and Shoulders shampoos for soft hair allow people to have both dandruff-free and soft hair.

The reason people think that it’s impossible to have soft and dandruff free hair seems to be because of dandruff shampoos themselves: there is a myth that getting rid of dandruff requires a chemically harsh shampoo.

The truth is very much different, however.

The truth about dandruff shampoo

Dandruff is ultimately caused by a microbe that lives on all of our scalps, called malassezia globosa. It’s largely harmless, unless you’re part of the population that is sensitive to one of the substances it creates - oleic acid.

If, like around half of the general population, you’re sensitive to oleic acid, you may experience the flakes, irritation and itching which are classic signs of dandruff.

Head & Shoulders contains an active ingredient to protect you from Malassezia globosa, allowing you to fight back against dandruff and the symptoms.

But we also have the technology to make sure you don’t have to compromise on having soft, silky hair as well.

Flake-free and soft

At Head & Shoulders we’ve long made it our business to make dandruff shampoos that keep both your scalp and hair happy.

That means getting rid of dandruff,* while also caring for your scalp and hair.

That’s why our anti-dandruff shampoos don’t work by stripping your scalp – rather, they moisturize and nourish it.

This means that Head & Shoulders shampoos do more than just fight flakes. They also help:

  • eliminate dryness

  • relieve itch and irritation** between washes

  • protect scalp from dandruff triggers

  • nourish hair to keep it supple and soft

For even softer hair, look for shampoos for soft hair that emphasize on moisturizing benefits and then pair your chosen shampoo with an anti-dandruff conditioner. Make sure you choose a conditioner which specifically targets dandruff, as many cosmetic conditioners can reduce your anti-dandruff protection by removing active ingredients.

If soft hair is a priority for you, it’s better to use a separate shampoo and conditioner. While 2in1 formulas do condition your hair, you’re likely to get greater softening and smoothing benefits from a stand-alone conditioner.
