ROUTINE FOR THIN HAIR

ROUTINE FOR THIN HAIR

If you have naturally thin hair and you’re looking for ways to boost its thickness, dandruff may be getting in the way of the hair you dream of.  But we’re here to help you make it a reality.

Whatever your hair type, having dandruff can weaken it.  Hair that grows from a scalp with dandruff has a less healthy structure, with more cuticle damage. The itching and scratching caused by dandruff compounds the problem- it can easily lead to weaker hair that breaks, leaving you with thin-looking hair.

To boost your hair’s appearance, the first step to correcting this is obviously to tackle the dandruff: a good anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner will do wonders to help relieve the dandruff and scratching that weakened your hair. They also make your hair appear thicker, by remove oil and build-up that can weigh It down.

And once your hair starts to recover, we have plenty of styling tricks you can use to improve the look and feel of your hair and make it appear thicker.

Choose the right product

Many people feel like if they want to treat dandruff, they have to compromise on things like having beautiful, healthy looking hair.

Fortunately, that's not the case today, and it’s now possible to choose an anti-dandruff shampoo which gives you other benefits too.

If you have thinner hair and want to give it a boost, look for a product which will fight dandruff and volumize your hair at the same time, like Head & Shoulders Extra Volume Shampoo, Full & Thick shampoo for men.

Add a conditioner

Even fine or thin hair can benefit from protective moisturizers included in conditioners, so make sure you add a conditioner to your routine. They help smooth down and protect hair's outer cuticle, helping to prevent damage and breakage.

But you don’t want a product that will weigh your hair down, so look for lightweight products and rinse it out thoroughly. This means you’ll get all the conditioning benefits without the weight.

Make sure you are using an anti-dandruff conditioner, as an ordinary conditioner may wash away the good work your anti-dandruff shampoo has done, making it less effective.

Style it out

Knotting and breakage are the enemies of thin hair.

When you step out of the shower, gently pat your hair dry with a T-shirt or microfiber towel – don’t rub too vigorously, as you could end up causing tangles.

If you do need to brush through, use a wide-toothed comb which is gentler on knots.

If you can, leave your hair to air dry. If you are particularly prone to frizz and would prefer to blow dry your hair, turn the temperature down and use a heat protector to make sure you don’t damage your hair in the process.
